This is a surprising video story about a continuous creative journey and about the art of making. If you are interested in reusing your art or creating digital art from your handmade pieces, this video is especially for you. (You might have seen some of the work shown here if you have liked Peony and Parakeet at Facebook.)

Thanks so much for sharing this! It was terrific!
Thank you, Bonnie!
Very nice! What program do you use for this?
Thank you! Adobe Photoshop, my version is CS5.
You are amazing! Your creativity and skills seem to have no boundaries. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, Christie!
PAIVI THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL GIFT OF INSPIRATION AND LEARNING!! I was mesmerized and will watch it again and again!! The music was also incredible!! Looking forward to June’s Imagine Monthly!!
Thank you for your comment, it really means a lot to me. Imagine Monthly’s June lesson is a very special one. Hopefully you’ll love it! — Those who haven’t bought Imagine Monthly yet, sign up here: http://www.peonyandparakeet.com/imaginemonthly/
I find your ideas to be a constant source of inspiration! I love your fearless expressiveness and your understanding that the “dark” is as important as the “light”!
Thank you, Lynne!
Thank you for the fabulous video. I particularly love your statement that the starting point doesn’t matter so much.
Jeannette, thanks! Starting point truly is overvalued!
Päivi you really need to teach a course on composing via photoshop manipulation! I thought I knew a fair number of tricks, but you are the master!
Thank you, Debbie, I am thinking about it. There are a lot of great tutorials, especially if you search for “digital scrapbooking” or “digital art journaling”.
Thanks for sharing this process with us. You have created some beautiful and unique images. I may try–again–to master photoshop. I tried once with an online tutorial; maybe I’d have better success with a human tutor!
Lynn, thanks! Look for tutorials on layers, that’s the most basic thing!
Awe inspiring!
Thanks, Cindy!
Loved watching you develop this, Païvi. Looks like lots of fun. Thanks for all these inspirational videos!
Thank you, Sue!
Just amazing! Love following your work!
Thanks, Beth!
Well, you have done it again. This took my breath away. I am 75 the seventh of June and although I try to keep up, this is just too much for me to follow. I will have to watch this again and again and then again for most of it to sink in. Must look for a computer course so I can keep up or give up, Just kidding would never give up learning. I have some art quilts I could do this with if I can figure it out. You are truly an amazing artist and I love your work. Thanks for sharing so much every month.
Thank you Nancy!
The final circle with your ladies reminded me of an ornament on the Christmas tree hanging among the branches with the lights reflecting all the people and things in the room. It is mesmerizing. I must say I really loved that fabric wave which was enhanced with embroidery making it more frothy than it was on fabric. That was really inspiring. I really loved this video of one of your art journeys which really are journeys not just finished pieces. Thank you for sharing your process and inspiration!
Thanks Mary, love your interpretation of the ornament! I used to doodle with needle for a long time before I went back to drawing and painting.
Amazing! I’m relatively new to your site, I love your work and find it really find it really inspiring. I spent yesterday afternoon making gelli prints and not all of them are lovely but I now have an idea of what to do with them. Thank you
Thank you Antonia! Yes, scan those and save them as digital backgrounds. You can also reprint them and use them as collage pieces!
Paivi, you continue to amaze & delight me with you creativity & artistry. And your generosity in sharing these ideas. You surpass all other artists’ blogs! Thank you!
Thank you so much, Evie!
Wow — I have been wanting to learn photoshop for a long time – but can’t find a hands on class to take — there are utube videos but they are so short — you’re making me drool — maybe I’ll just have to buy the software and play. Thanks for such a great video
Thank you, Gloria! The videos about handling layers are the most important! Have fun!
You are an inspiration!
Thank you, denthe!
Thanks for the video Paivi and sharing how you did that.
Thanks, Nancy!
I admire your technical skills. Now, I need to take a Photoshop class to learn how to archive and use many years of art works. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hieno video! Sinä olet taitava photoshoppailija, vau. Minä en osaa muuta kuin jotain pieniä asioita siirrellä kuvan päälle.
